Some general guidelines...

• Check the printer display panel. It may show a flashing icon.

Tell me about the front panel.

• Your printer may have a hardware problem. Turn the printer off and on again. If the message persists, call HP.

Tell me about HP Customer Care.

• Check the lights on the printer. If the yellow light is blinking, this means that the printer is in an error state or it requires attention.

Specific problems...

• The problem is related to print quality

(white streaks, banding, fading, starwheel marks)

• The problem is physically with the printer

(jammed paper, flashing yellow light, paper tray won't go in properly, pages stick together)

• The problem is what is printed

(scrambled or nothing is printed, prints are cropped)
